Sunbrellas At Monterosso
Monterosso al Mare is a town and commune in the province of La Spezia, part of the region of Liguria in northern Italy, and is one of the five villages of Cinque Terre. Originally, the town was only accessible by sea or by mule paths that connected the Cinque Terre villages. Today, the beach at Monterosso runs along most of the short coast line and is the only extensive sand beach in the Cinque Terre, which is usually overrun by tourists in the summer months. This image captures the magnetism of the Italian seaside with the almost mesmeric azure ‘sunbrellas’ decked out in parrallel lines, while bathers cool themselves at the becalmed and emerald-like waters edge.
