Shadows From The Overhang
The weathered overhanging sandstone monolith on the north side of Tamarama Beach is a unique coastal landmark and is regularly featured in photography and works of art. Beachgoers often shelter in its shade and it is a great vantage point from which to survey the beach. In this work, some beachfans are engaged in conversation while others lie strewn on the khaki coloured sand, perceiving the intense warmth of the sun against their skin. Activity and community is evident everywhere, beneath the ‘shadows from the overhang’.
